We have some exciting news…
As many of you know, Hackwith Design House celebrated our 5 year anniversary in September. In some ways, it feels like forever ago from when we first launched–especially when we think about all of the changes we’ve made since, in terms of production, our team size, and the quality of our fabrics. On the other hand, it feels like just yesterday when we were brainstorming the early concepts of HDH Basics (now one of our most popular lines) and eating team lunches at our old shared studio space in Minneapolis.
With five years under our belt, it was not only time for us to celebrate and reminisce, but also reassess and brainstorm what’s next for HDH.
Continuing to manufacture our apparel in the USA is important to us. Not only are we able to guarantee safe and fair working conditions here in our St. Paul studio, but having everything produced in-house also has improved the quality of our pieces. On a daily basis, we have an ongoing flow of communication between our Designer, our Seamstresses, and our Director of Operations. Being within the same 2,500 square foot radius of each other has been incredibly impactful in maintaining the quality of our thoughtfully-designed pieces and having our whole operation run as smoothly as possible.
As a result of our improved attention to detail and dedication to quality, our online sales have grown significantly within the past five years–THANK YOU! We are so lucky to have such supportive and loyal customers–both repeat customers and also customers who spend months and months saving for their first HDH piece all in dedication to supporting a small local business and sustainable fashion. We know shopping ethically and sustainably comes at a price, so we can’t express enough how much we appreciate each and every customer.
With this said, we will be dedicating even more time to online sales this year and discontinuing wholesale orders.
Discontinuing wholesale means that our lines will no longer be carried at boutiques–all orders will be placed at www.hackwithdesignhouse.com. We’ve made so many great connections and friendships through working with boutique owners around the world, so we’ll be sad to see that come to an end. However, no longer offering wholesale orders means we have more flexibility in the prices of our pieces and allows us to drop price points and continue to give our skilled employees the pay and benefits they deserve.
We will still make appearances at various pop-ups here and there and continue to host occasional studio sales, so we look forward to seeing familiar (and new) faces then!
Thank you again and again for your endless support, and cheers to new changes!
