Limited Edition

This week’s releases feature two dresses that will surely be closet staples, the Selby Slip Dress and the Vandalia Slip Dress!  The Selby flows down to just above the ankles. The Vandalia is a cropped version of the latter, hitting just above the knee. Both dresses are fabricated in similar silky material and come in your choice of black or cream.

We paired the Selby Slip Dress in cream with an upcoming jacket for Wilson & Willy’s and our favorite Sven Clogs.  For the Vandalia Slip Dress in Cream, we threw on our Drew Sweater and Red Wing Boots.

We paired the Selby in black with the Kotero Top that will be coming to Cliche soon.  For the Vandalia in black, we wrapped up in a cozy HDH blazer that we’ll be releasing in November.

Makers Alongside

Meet our newest Makers Alongside collaborator, a jewelry maker based in Richmond, Virginia called Young Frankk. We are excited to introduce to you the Truss Cuff! The bracelet is bronze and plated with rose gold. Much like Young Frankk’s other designs, it is a minimal but incredibly visual piece. We love it stacked with other bracelets or worn alone as a statement piece.

Make sure to order your Truss Cuff for $122 from our website on October 15th!

Limited Edition

To kick off October, we’re releasing a classic coat design that comes in three different wool fabrics– meet the Dale Coat, the Merrill Coat and the Brooks Coat!

Each coat is minimalistic in design with a high collar, slightly-above-the-knee length and an open front. Additionally, the seam of the pockets is extended around the entire coat–– a detail that we love. Each wool fabric is lightweight but warm, perfect for layering over a dress or your favorite knit sweater.

The Dale is seen here on Kristina with HDH’s black wrap Erwin Dress. To see this coat in action, visit our friend Wit & Delight

The Brooks Coat is styled with HDH’s Julia Dress and boots by Rag & Bone. The wool fabric is a tweed-like knit in a deep green-blue color. (Photos of the Brooks and Dale Coats by Melissa Oholendt)

Lastly, we styled the black wool knit Merrill Coat with Sven clogs and the HDH short slip dress in cream that is scheduled to come out later this month.

A couple of weeks ago I presented 20 of my favorite fall looks in a fashion show produced by MN4MN.  The looks are a combination of pieces for the website that are already for sale, pieces to come, and pieces made exclusively for boutiques.  We had one of the models from the show stop by the studio this past week so we could photograph all the looks and share them with all of you.  Hope you enjoy:)

Makers Alongside

Meet our 10th Makers Alongside collaborator, the wonderful Ginny Sims of Ginny Sims Ceramics! Out of her humble studio, she has created for us a beautiful ceramic pitcher to hold our favorite teas, water and flowers.

image

Ginny started her craft early on in Little Rock, Arkansas sometime during high school. Influenced by instructors at the Arkansas Art Center Museum School where she took classes, she was instantly taken with pottery. “All it took for me to want to be a potter was to peek inside one of my teacher’s kitchen cabinets. It was all handmade pottery.” Later, Ginny took a few years to travel and found herself working with clay in Italy and Scotland. And finally, while apprenticing with Mike Dodd in southwestern England, her decision to pursue a career in ceramics was cemented.

Today, Ginny has a MFA under her belt and runs her own business, Ginny Sims Ceramics. European influence is evident throughout her work, specifically referencing English folk pottery and European Porcelains.  Most of Ginny’s inspiration comes from the every-day, something that she and HDH have in common! This includes people’s homes, traveling, and familiar objects found in kitchens. Although utilitarian in design, Ginny’s imagery on the surface of her work is quite incredible. She often pulls ideas from childhood memories, Greek mythology and films. The result of these elements is beautiful and unique–– we are lucky to be apart of it!

Ginny’s ceramic pitchers can be found here on our website! Other products can be found at The Foundry Home GoodsPowderhorn Kitchen, and various places. She also welcomes commissions and for folks to get in touch via her website. Be sure to stay updated on Ginny and her growing business on instagram too!

Limited Edition

For our final September releases, we give you the Sawyer Top, the Juliet Sleeveless Jacket and the Claire Sleeveless Jacket!

The Sawyer Top, seen on Kristina, is classically simple with a cropped sleeve and shallow boatneck. The exterior of the woven cotton fabric is brushed with a sturdy taupe colored material that gives the piece its character. We’ve accented it here with a necklace found at Parc Boutique. (Photos by Melissa Oholendt)

The Juliet and Claire Sleeveless Jackets are an incredibly versatile design in two different fabrics. The Juliet is a pearly white linen styled here with a grey HDH jumper that will be available later this fall. The Claire is made up of a heathered navy wool blend, pictured with Sven clogs and an HDH slip dress that will available in October. Both jackets are easy throw-ons over your favorite wardrobe picks.

Limited Edition

This week’s releases are three tops that feature fantastic texture and cuts. Meet the Cascade, Sheridan and Blaine tops!

The Cascade is a top that should be worn every season. The cut is a cropped, ¾ sleeve of poly cotton blend that drapes beautifully without losing structure. We love the dusty pearl color paired with darker bottoms like what is seen here on Christina.

The Sheridan is a piece that is easily loved, styled here with white pants and our Linus Cuff. Made of a stunning wool that is woven together, the texture is soft and elegant. The neckline is high in the front and dips a little lower in the back, complimented by the visible seam down the back.

Lastly, the Blaine Top is a black and brown wool knit that is thin but heavy, perfect for cold weather. The cut is the same as the Sheridan Top, boxy and structured with front pockets and a high neckline. Seen here with the HDH Ryan Pant, Sven Clogs and one of our favorite Etsy finds.
